Quartered Oak Is the Trim of the Hall, While the Walls Are Covered with Japanese Grass Cloth Decorated with a Stenciled Border above which the walls are covered with a dull red stripedpaper, finished with a neat molding, from which picturesmay be hung. The corner fireplace is built of red brick withthe facings and hearth of similar brick, and a mantel. Atone side of the room is a cluster of windows under whichthere is placed a paneled seat. The dining-room is treated with white paint, and has apaneled wainscoting, above which the walls are covered withtapestry, and the wholefinished with a massivewooden cornice. The openfireplace with its brick fac-ings and hearth and itsmantel with Ionic pilastersis the important feature ofthe room. This room iscarried out with Colonialcharacteristics and is quitein harmony with its furni-ture. The butlers pantry isfitted with all the best pos-s i b 1 e conveniences. Thekitchen and its dependen-cies are fitted up complete.The servants hall and stair-
