nstruction as well as in design. Indeed, to any oneconversant with the trend of small house and small gardendevelopment, it is evident that an eruption of architecturaland diminutive landscape or garden talent is sufficiently ripe,to bring about a multiplication of a single house or any oneof a group of houses, for instance, such as those which graceEl Mora with their interiors all built on the same plan (andwhich is all so homogeneous), and to place them on lovelycurving countryside or suburban roads, streets and lanes aslaid out in English villages. The charm and consummationof creations such as these are well within the art of dottingthe borders of the lesser thoroughfares with small housesand grounds, which are types in fact and not in ideal, pic-tures that have passed the stage of the first rough sketch andnow appear as gems befitting their neighborhood, while ave-nue, boulevard and promenade can be made to put on immor-tality of stone and marble majesty, at the west end of town.
