View of the dining-room seems just to suit this charming home bowered with woodsand flowers, was bestowed in honor of the owners favor-ite writer and poet, Oliver WendellHolmes, and because of the prevailingtree, the tall, giant oak. The entire cost of this artistic littledwelling with its six rooms and bath, andlarge living-porches, including the va-rious improvements made on lawns andravines and in the way of paths, walks, etc., was slightly under $6,000. Thus it will be seen how the judiciousexpenditure of a limited amount for acarefully planned purpose can be made toproduce results highly satisfactory inthe kitchen evolving an artistic and comfortable home.
