Text Appearing Before Image:
Dull harrows are very inefficient toolsto use. The blades of the disk shouldbe sharpened and the bearings shouldnot be neglected. Renew them whennecessary. Dull shovels on cultivatorscannot be expected to do efficientwork. The farmer is himself a manufac-turer, but when the manner of sellinghis products is observed the con-clusion is formed that his marketingmethods are not worthy of the name,as they consist chiefly of dumpingrather than of marketing. o Take a day off to cut the weeds, not only those around the yard butalong the highway adjoining. It isthe eternal question—Am I mybrothers keeper, that makes somuch inconvenience and trouble forus all. o The soil is a very important factorin gardening. Sandy soils are adapt-ed to early vegetables; the loam soilsto tomatoes and muskmeions, and themusk soils to the nitrogen feeders, lettuce, cabbage, celery and onions. 0 Look out for rabbit work on theyoung fruit trees. Either get the rab-bit or protect the trees. THE NEWTONMOUNTAIN WAGON
