THE OXE-HORSE CULTIVATOR IS THE THINGFOR MEDIUM-SIZED AREAS hoe, etc., whichare on the mar-ket ; buy yourseed planters e p a r a t e 13^ Aw heel hoe, ifrightly used, is agreat labor-saver; but donot think thatyou can pushone steadilyalong like a horsecultivator — it should be sent forward with a series of little, quickpushes, an inch or so at a time. The single-w^heel hoeis mostly used for work between rows; the double-wheel hoe is especially adapted for straddling andworking on both sides of a row. Of the two styles, forordinary use, I personally prefer the single wheel—itis lighter, cheaper to buy, and easier to operate; butmany truckers and onion growers prefer the doublewheel for large areas. For the larger gar-den, or commercial truckfield, I should want anassortment of hoes of dif-ferent shapes and sizes, adouble-wheel hoe, a goodone-horse cultivator forworking between tworows, and (if the areawere large enough) a two-horse cultivator for work-ing two rows at once.
